FPYK's Intensive Study programs are designed for students of Yoga who do not desire to enter the YTT program. If you simply wish to travel to India to deepen your knowledge of the practices in a focussed way, this program is for you.

Students of any ability and level of knowledge may persue intensive yoga training at FPYK. We encourage you to visit us as your schedule allows.

Available Curriculum

Intensive Yoga Studies at FPYK consists of these primary subjects:

  • Yogasana
  • Pranayama & Mudra
  • Mantra & Japa
  • Yogic Philosophy, Psycology, & Lifestyle
  • Teaching Techniques and Methodology

Classes on the first three subjects are given most days while the second set is incorporated into satsanga discussions along with guidance in meditation, diet, lifestyle, etc.

Elective related subjects such as Ayurveda, Astrology, and traditional music may be persued by interested students.

Yogasana training is given in one of two formats:

  • Classic [aka Astanga (Ashtanga)] - Typically Chosen by students who have already learned a number of asanas and who are interested to incorporate VINYASA into their practice. Note that this practice is strictly modeled on the classic Astanga Vinyasa series'. Even if you have studied this tradition for some time, you will become more perfect in your knowledge and execution of these practices under the guidance of Masterji Viswanatha.
  • Fundamental [aka FPYK Yoga] - Chosen by students who may be new to yogasana; who have more than average physical limitation due to injury, disease, age, or lifestyle; who simply do not care for vinyasa; or who have challenges which make doing vinyasa too distracting for their practice. In other words, it is still great yogasana but without the demands of vinyasa and its' accompanying elements.

Yoga students persuing intensive study may enter into either format depending on desire and abilities or current knowledge.

Students may attend any or all of these regularly scheduled classes.
